Supercross Inscription
(The first supercross worldwide)
SurFestival Torbole/Lake Garda 2004
May, 29. - June, 2.
Location: Torbole, Lake Garda, Italy
Organization: Circolo Surf Torbole, Windsurf Italia, Surf Magazin
Disciplin: Supercross
Contestants: Invitational, 16 nominated riders (four from each country)
Equipment: Production boards/production sails only
Course: Downwind-slalom with freestyle-moves
(the Moves will be determineted depending on the wind strength)
Races/eliminations: One round (8 heats) per day as a single elimination. 4 contestants per heat, the two best advance
Discard: 4 eliminations, 1 discard
Point system: PWA rules (first place: 0,7 points, second place: 2 points, etc.)
Wind limit: No races below 11 knots
Rules: Only fair play (no protests allowed)
Security: Each rider must wear an helmet and should wear body protection (chest, arms und legs)
Important: No start without helmet (life saving vests are not required)
Advertising: Advertising vest (lycras) from the organizer are mandatory during training and races
Sail stickers: The sticker of the organizer (Circolo Surf Torbole) must be attached on either side of the sail
Entry fee: None
Prizes: Every day trophies for the best nation team
Prize money: 1.000 euro for the best team finish

Saturday, 29/5/2004: 11 a.m.: Drawing of the heats on stage (SurFestival)
12.30 p.m.: Skippersmeeting
2 p.m.: Possible start of the first heat
5 p.m.: Presentation of the "Winner Team of the Day" on stage of the SurFestival following the drawing of the heats for the next day
Sunday, 30/5/2004: 12.30 p.m.: Skippersmeeting
2 p.m.: possible start of the first heat
5 p.m.: Presentation of the "Winner of the Day" on stage of the SurFestival following the drawing of the heats for the next day
Monday, 31/5/2004: 12.30 p.m.: Skippersmeeting
2 p.m.: possible start of the first heat
5 p.m.: Prize giving Ceremony on stage of the SurFestival "Supercross Nation-Cup"
Tuesday, 1/6/2004 and Wednesday, 2/6/2004: 12.30 p.m.: Skippersmeeting
2 p.m.: possible start of the freestyle supersession

In a preview to the SurFestival in Torbole, Windsurf Italia and Surf Magazin will publish a starting list of all teams with the riders incl. their board and sail sponsors. If there is a result, Windsurf Italia and Surf Magazin will write a story. The race will also be covered on the net by www.surf-magazin.de
